THE POWER OF RELATIONSHIPS JUST GOT REAL!

WE HAVE RELATIONSHIPS AND THEN WE HAVE ‘RELATIONSHIPS’

So many of us work very hard to build powerfully sustainable relationships. We also work hard making sure that our personal and business relationships are maintained and strengthened, yet it had become more rare for us to really give them the time they deserve. Last night in New York City I returned with “The Art of Active Networking” event. We had over 50 people and a number of my members who have come many times. I was also thrilled to see over 30 new members attend. A number of times last night people stood up in the room and raved about the event, or they approached me with comments and warm hugs letting me know how ’The Art of Active Networking’ has helped them personally and professionally, how much they have missed the events, or how they have adopted #MYGIVE4 and used it to inspire or transform their giving to and helping others to do better. Last night honestly had a profound impact on me, as too often I wonder if I am having any impact at all. Last night it all became real and I recognized once again just how much my relationships mean to me and how my own #MYGIVE4 can help others.

I must say that I was both deeply moved and overflowing with gratitude. I have missed my New York network in these 8 months since Gretchen passed away and I suspended my events, but today, I am already planning my return in early May to NYC. I have believed for over 6 years now that this event is different than a typical networking event, I maintain that is is effective if one does what I suggest. And I saw first hand last night how that applies to real life. I was surrounded by amazing people from all walks of life and they are all amazing people. 

No longer do we need to sort our new contacts into the “need them’ or the “don’t need them” pile. No longer do we need to ask the question, “So what do you do for a living?’ Instead we just get to look each other straight in the eyes and say “how are you? and “How can I help you do better right now?” and then practice #MYGIVE4 as way to give it!

Today, give 4 hours a week in these 4 ways to help others and watch your relationships grow and flourish:

1. Give of your ideas and talent!
2. Give of your time, help someone or volunteer!
3. Give of your network referrals!
4. Give of your money, donate a little or pay it forward.

We all struggle with something and you never know when your small deed can change someone’s day!

Finally, come out to our events, share them with your network and friends. Please join our groups and pages, and post up with you need or can offer. All our groups and walls are free for you to use.
