The power of a project visit from Martin at UNICEF Australia

As part of the Inspired Adventure experience, (where relevant) we aim to incorporate project visits in each of our adventures. We do this so that the participants can witness firsthand the direct impact of their incredible fundraising efforts, and build upon the bond they have established with the charity partner.

Last November, was the UNICEF Australia’s Cycle for Children: Laos 2018. Martin was the charity representative on this particular adventure and he returned to say that the UNICEF project visit was a personal highlight of the challenge.

“To get to see the program we supported first hand and to gain an understanding of the high level of experience and knowledge of the local UNICEF staff...it’s an amazing opportunity for people to bond with your organisation and its mission.”

Through their project visit, the team were able to learn how their fundraising efforts for Early Childhood Development would assist some of the most impoverished parts of Laos.

“It underlines all the information you provide them with (the supporters) and proves the impact of all their fundraising efforts.”

Martin said the visit was influential for engaging with the participants as supporters - not only for the duration of the challenge but for establishing an ongoing relationship.

“It really gave us the opportunity to properly get to know each other, and to understand the deeper motivation behind each person’s support of UNICEF.

“For many it even gives an added motivation to engage with your organisation on different levels and become ambassadors for your brand.”

Like Martin, I think project visits are an incredibly powerful part of our adventures and it’s great to hear the rewarding level of engagement that they provide participants.

It certainly seems like the team had a wonderful time, watch the video of their experience below.
