The power of professional photography.

Confidence boosting photography for founders, leaders and small businesses.
Headshots or portraits are a great way to make a first impression. We use them for our app profile images, on websites, on CVs and for many other reasons.
I often hear people say, “I don’t need a professional headshot, I’ll just use a half decent image I’ve got already somewhere, it’ll be fine”. Now don’t get me wrong I’m sure most people will try and use something that is along the right lines and I’m not here to tell anyone what to do BUT what I can say is that cutting corners and using “half decent” images can send the wrong message to your target audience. It can suggest you’re not serious or that you don’t value yourself or your business as much as you should.
Let’s say you’re looking for a business contact for something important to you. You find 3 people. One has no profile image at all. One has a smartphone shot of them all dressed up ready for a night out and the 3rd has a well-presented image where you can see their face clearly and they look approachable and welcoming. Who are you most likely going to feel a connection with? The last one, right?
Most people underestimate the power of professional photography when it comes to representing themselves, their brand or their business. The good news is that by making the effort it’s very easy for you to get a step ahead of “most people” and really stand out as the go to person in your field.
By putting in some thought and investing into the right imagery you’re communicating directly into the sub-conscious mind of your ideal client, customer or audience. You’re saying, “this is me, I care about who I am and what I do and in dealing with me you can expect the same level of professionalism and quality you see here”. Now that’s a lot of message from a photo!
It's a lot easier than you think to get this edge and to create the right impression. If you want to know more about identifying and communicating your personal brand through photography, drop me a message via on LinkedIn, on my website or on social media and I’ll answer any questions you have.
