Power prices (Brazil): rising!

This week, prices on the free electricity market, for delivery from 2025 to 2028, were quoted at:

  • R$ 120/MWh for conventional energy
  • It is R$ 151/MWh for incentivized energy (50%)

1 USD = R$ 4.9

In recent months, every month there has been an increase!

They are still attractive (in relation to the captive - regulated market) BUT there has clearly been a systemically upward trend.

For those who are responsible for ensuring the supply of electricity to their company or institution, it will make perfect sense to evaluate when to lock a new contract.
