The Power Platform Global AI Hack Recap

On September 14th we launched? The Power Platform Global AI #HackTogether?– a virtual hackathon all about using AI in the Power Platform. Here’s a recap of what happened in the event and what's next and how to continue learning!

Kickoff Session

We kicked off the virtual hackathon with a keynote by Ryan Cunningham (Vice President, Power Apps).

Ryan gave an insightful presentation on how AI can empower developers to create smarter and more intuitive applications. This can result in more personalized and efficient software that can cater to the needs of individual users and tackle big challenges.

Introduction to Power Platform Copilots.

The first full week of the hack kicked off with a live session on Power Platform Copilots. Priya Vaidyanathan joined us to show a captivating demo of how you can build business grade websites fast with the help of Copilot in Power Pages. We learned how to choose a theme, add pages, and design multi-step forms based on your website’s intent. We also discovered you could create a customer facing chat-bot experience for any website visitors that was powered by the information on your website.

Getting Started with GitHub

In our final week of the hack, David Warner II joined us to show how to get started with GitHub. GitHub gives you a way to share your solutions with the community so everyone can benefit from your work. David walked through the basics to submitting your first pull request so you can be on your way to contributing to the Power Platform Samples repository.

Wrap up and take action: Join our community for the next Big Thing!

We closed out our hack with some closing remarks and a live Q&A from VP of Power Automate Stephen Siciliano . Stephen shared how he sees AI and Copilots evolving in the Power Platform and answered some fun questions like what his favorite AI use case in Power Automate is.

What's Next?

So now that the hack is officially over, what's next? Our judges are going to go to work reviewing all of your inspiring AI-powered submissions. We will vote and deliberate to determine the winners for each category (best better together solution, best AI-powered use case, best DEI solution and grand prize winner). The winners will be announced in a blog post the week of October 23rd.

The learning doesn't stop here though, we hope that the hack inspired you to continue your journey exploring the world of AI in the Power Platform! We have a bunch of resources to continue your journey.
