Welcome to Issue 43 of "Ramblings of a Recruiter in Real Estate" – your exclusive insider's guide to navigating the exciting world of real estate recruitment in 2024!
In our last issue, I gave more details on why discussions on the topic of money were so uncomfortable and how to make the conversation from either perspective a point of building goals and rewards, not conflict. You can re-read it here. In this issue, we discuss:
The Power of a Plan
In the last fortnight our podcast guests have spoken about the importance of a plan, be this to successfully achieve short, medium or long-term career ambitions or how to survive a trip up Everest. Jon in particular emphasised that the plan is not where he will end up, that is the easy bit, but rather without the plan the end is never achieved.
·? Continuous Learning and Skill Development: Stay updated with industry trends and acquire new competencies to ensure relevance and competitiveness. Avoid that common mistake in your earliest years to try to do it all on your own.
·? Networking: Build relationships within and outside the organisation to open doors to new opportunities and mentorship. The wider your community, the wider your network for support.
·? Goal Setting and Review: Set clear, achievable goals and regularly review progress to maintain focus and motivation.? Correct your course as you go.
·? Embrace Challenges: View challenges as opportunities for growth rather than setbacks.
·? Develop Leadership Skills: Enhance skills in communication, decision-making, and team management to prepare for executive roles.
·? Strategic Mindset: Understand broader business objectives and contribute to organisational success to enhance career trajectory. Identify your gaps in knowledge and seek feedback from managers.

We talk about career development, continuous development, the benefit of a plan and the power of silence to get your point across.
