Whether we like it or not, Facebook (and social media in its entirety) is here to stay.
The recent changes to the Facebook Algorithm have sent some businesses scrambling, who knew staying in front of the pack would be such a mission! But here’s the good news - this change will ultimately be for the best.
Recently Facebook changed their mission statement to better reflect its vision for the social platform. “Give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.”
So what does this mean for Councils ? It means Facebook is providing you with a captivated and engaged audience to share the news of your local governance area. And the best way to connect ? Video !
Next time you’re posting to your preferred network - get creative and think outside the square. Could what you’re posting be communicated as a video log ? Could you use video to introduce a new project or celebrate the success of the community ?
The possibilities really are endless, especially with the world of technology at our fingertips.
