The Power of Peace

The Power of Peace

In 2022, I finally overcame a 25-year-old fear.

Since I was 30 years old, when I first got a glimpse of inner peace, I feared that if I ever fully achieved peace, contentment, connectedness, and bliss, it would zap me of all of my drive and I’d want to spend all of my time in a hut, meditating.

Over the last 12 months, I’ve realized it’s just the opposite. For us driven people, inner peace actually increases our drive and fuels us even more—it’s just a different, more powerful fuel than what used to drive us.

This message is about the incredible balance between being highly productive and incredibly peaceful. “Productivity and peace,” for short.

Productivity is being creative, manifesting things, applying our craft in the world, doing, working, earning, providing value, serving humanity, and making a huge impact on the world.

Peace is trusting yourself, having unlimited positive energy, being aware, being in flow, feeling connected to everything, unconditionally loving yourself and others, living from your intuition, being fully present, letting go, and completely surrendering.

This peace eludes most of us driven visionary entrepreneurs. It’s the downside of having driven DNA. But I’ve now learned that it is possible to have both peace and be productive.

The barriers to both productivity and peace are what prevent this superhuman merger from happening.

The things that prevent you from being productive are doubt, insecurity, lack of confidence, fear, and past failures. These barriers are energetic blocks.

The things that prevent you from being peaceful are fear, pain, trauma, past wounds, ego, and living in your pain body. These barriers are also energetic blocks.

As a driven visionary entrepreneur, you typically have the productive part down; you have enough brute force to succeed despite your energetic blocks. You’re just not typically experiencing a lot of peace. And just like everything in life, there’s a much-needed balance, harmony, a mean, a middle, center, or happy medium.

I’ve been teaching how to achieve this balance in my latest talk, “7 Awarenesses to Free Your Soul,” which is a focus on helping you to master your inner self. (More on this in 2023.) My next talk is on February 8 at 10:00 AM ET. Register here.

By learning to live with this balance, you will achieve incredible freedom, creativity, and impact, be in Flowt (a combination of being in flow and the feeling of floating), and be able to let your freak flag fly.

Hopefully you can join me on February 8 and join me on this journey. I’m a work in progress, just as you probably are as well.

Love this message, Gino Wickman. I think you are pointing dead on at something that we all deeply desire, but that eludes most of us. I am an Enneagram #9 (Peacemaker), and the most important thing to me is probably peace -- the sense of harmony and tranquility where I can thrive. Peace is easier to find in a closet than at a grocery store or workplace, but we have to find a way to find it both places (private and public). But how to find peace, when it can be so dependent upon external factors? That's the key, and I am guessing you will be helping people discover that there is a quality of peace that IS POSSIBLE even if everything is falling apart. Possible, even if the internal engine is a supercharged V8 of drive and ambition. The idea that peace is a discipline, though true, must sound so foreign and strange to most people. Peace as a muscle you can build and flex. Greg McKeown recently posted about the discipline of gratitude, and it was a hard pill to swallow, but so necessary. Thank you for this message!

The longer I live, at least for me, Peace starts becoming part of my own structure and foundation that in turn, once realized, becomes harmonious with my Core Values which then fuels my drive in a more synergistic and calm way. When others see it, it becomes my Freak Flag. (Love that term Gino!)
