For this week's article, we're handing over to our Head of Partnerships, Jen Whyley , to talk about the vital importance of forging and maintaining strong relationships with your clients.

Partnerships are the lifeblood of Agent. We need to develop partnerships to learn, develop and grow as an agency. But why? How can they help grow a business? How can they breed opportunities? And what are the key qualities you need to make strong partnerships that do both??

Business development.??

Creating a strong partnership with a client is about getting to know them inside out. The more we know about a client, the better work we can create for them. Good work means long lasting relationships. It’s about building strong foundations.??

Creating opportunities.??

Better understanding of businesses and their landscapes – both internally and externally – helps us to shape the work we do for them. It puts us, as an agency, in a better position to use our expertise and guide our partners to what we think will help them to succeed.

Sometimes that differs from what the client has asked for, but that is what we are here for – to be experts! Building that foundation of trust allows us to offer expertise with confidence, and helps the client trust our decisions.??

Adding value.?

This is something we live and breathe at Agent. Everything is about adding value to the clients we work with and making a real impact. Yes, that means making good work – but it also means growing our networks, making introductions, and helping to open doors for the businesses we work with. Everything is connected in this way – and it’s one of the reasons why Agent, as a full-service agency, is so valuable to its clients.??

Making it personal.?

For me, it is about being friendly, curious, and open-minded. You have to listen actively and you have to do your research! One of the best parts of my role is getting to know so many industries and how they operate.?

This is an extremely fulfilling process – It becomes more fulfilling when a project launch achieves its desired results. Seeing work that you’ve contributed to, work that you’ve helped shape, born from solid partnerships that you’ve helped forge, is the best bit.?

Building strong connections and maintaining strong relationships is what we’re all about. It’s what allows us to make good work, make a difference, and cross paths with all kinds of brilliant people along the way. We’re proud to have strong, long-standing relationships with a huge range of clients and people from a whole host of sectors, that we value hugely.
