We are thrilled to announce that GLP’s film, “Local Climate Solutions: Biodiversity and Forest Conservation in the Sierra Gorda” was released on WaterBear Network , a free impact media streaming platform on May 30th.
Through award-winning storytelling, curating opportunities to learn and act, and building a global community, WaterBear is defining a new category in media that aims to create global impact through a collective agency. Powered by hundreds of non-profit partners, active citizens, and purpose-driven brands, WaterBear Network invites people to switch from mindless scrolling and engage with diverse forms of content at the intersection of the environment and culture that inspires people to take action.?
New Product Launch: Video Impact Reports
The Sierra Gorda film is a powerful example of using visual storytelling to convey complex research-backed reports through our new “Video Impact Report” product.
In support of major projects, a video impact report can live alongside a traditional, written, data-driven report on a project to be presented at a board meeting, an industry event, or as a fundraising tool.
GLP’s Film on Chef Pierre Thiam Featured by 世界银行
We are thrilled to announce that our film featuring Chef Pierre Thiam , a Senegal-raised, U.S.-based top chef, entrepreneur, culinary ambassador, and food and nutrition activist, was featured in the World Bank’s “Talking Development” interview with Anna Bjerde , Managing Director of 世界银行 .
Born in Senegal, Pierre Thiam never imagined he would become the world-acclaimed “Chef Pierre Thiam.” From how it all began in New York City to how fonio – an ancient grain from West Africa – can help address #foodinsecurity, he shares his passion for food, #sustainability, and supporting small farmers.
We first filmed Pierre in Senegal and Brooklyn, New York in March of 2014 (the original footage showcased in the World Bank interview). We were so inspired by his work that we followed up with Pierre during the pandemic and learned about his incredible work to help his local community. We interviewed?Pierre for our “Tourism Strong” campaign where we highlighted some of the heroes of New York City such as Pierre who transitioned his restaurant into feeding first responders during the pandemic. We have continued to promote his inspiring work ever since.?
This recent collaboration with the World Bank showcases the benefits of our work in connecting with amazing people doing great work and changing the world.?Not only do we get to tell the story in our films, but we also develop strategic partnerships that allow us to share these stories of changemakers like Pierre in other outlets such as the World Bank and more.
It supports our GLP Vision -- “A sustainable future led by the positive impacts of changemakers”. Thank you, World Bank for this inspiring interview and for sharing our film.?

#Bonito is a leader in #sustainabletourism, not only for #Brazil but for the world. As many residents note, it is one of the last “wild” places, allowing visitors to connect with nature in a transformative way. Bonito recently received accreditation as the first carbon-neutral ecotourism destination in the world.
The #Pantanal is the world’s largest tropical wetland habitat, distinguished by its culture, nature, and cuisine. It is sculpted by the ebb and flow of the rainy and dry seasons, and these seasonal changes also shape the people who inhabit this unique ecosystem. The #Pantaneiro cowboys are the torchbearers of tradition, protecting their way of life and striving to balance sustainability and economic activity supporting farms and local communities. For travelers seeking a slow, immersive experience, the locally-owned homestays offer a unique opportunity to encounter the culture and heritage of the authentic Pantaneiro life. In the new film, “Into the Pantanal” see for yourself why the Pantanal is one of the most magical places on earth and how the local community is preserving this place for generations to come.?
The new films showcase the unique beauty, amazing adventure activities, hospitality, and welcoming spirit of the community, while also demonstrating how visitors can play a positive role in supporting #conservation and #sustainablepractices to benefit the local economy, communities, and habitats.
