The Power of Our Words – This Time, We Need Your Help!

The Power of Our Words – This Time, We Need Your Help!

There was a time when I didn’t pay much attention to the power of words.

I am a musician. When people speak, I learn more by listening to the music in their voice rather than their words.

Music has the power to pull listeners into the world of its composer.

But when we add words, a song has the power to change lives.

Consider how Lady Gaga galvanized the LGBTQ community with just three words:

“Born This Way.”

?Just put your paws up

'Cause you were born this way, baby

My mama told me when I was young, "We are all born superstars"

She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on in the glass of her boudoir

"There's nothing wrong with loving who you are", she said, "Cause he made you perfect, babe so hold your head up, girl, and you'll go far."

One question turned my life into a mission:

If work is more than a living, how can we turn our work into a strong and loving relationship?

The statement seemed straightforward. But the actual action turned out to be quite revolutionary. A series of precise questions changed my life and became the foundation of our first program. The power of those words led to an unexpected commitment. Because we have treated the quality of anyone’s relationship towards work as sacred.

Making the commitment to become a better writer wasn’t pushed by the desire to sell more books, my desire is that everyone who works experiences what we discovered.

Today, I’m asking you to help us out. Over the last few days, I have thought that if words are so powerful, what is the sentence you would craft to end the divisiveness and rage that rolls through our country, the?United?States of America?

Here is mine:

Our commitment for 2023

From this day forward, all of us work towards our abundance rather than our differences.

?All that is good in my life has come from the generosity of others. We live in a country filled with so much abundance that the rest of the world still wants what we have. But the world is also tiring of our adolescence.

What we pay attention to is what we become. Even the strongest amongst us turn into bitter parodies of ourselves when we believe in scarcity, the notion there isn’t enough for all of us.?But abundance is just as real as scarcity. That means all of us to have a choice in where and how we live and whether we define the one most sacred thing we want to do with our lives.

But bringing life into spiritual change requires just as much critical thinking as love itself. Here are a few practical ways we could fully return to building abundance.?

  • Promote a national mentoring program for underemployed workers.
  • Contribute to the rise of social entrepreneurs, who solve the world’s problems by making their solutions profitable.
  • Continue developing and offering full access to programs that help people find and succeed in doing the work they love. How important is this? Full access means no charge.
  • Criminal behavior has no relationship to income. Instead of demonizing success, we will study it and use those insights to establish abundance in our lives.

Our invitation:

Contribute One Sentence

If you were to offer up a sentence that changes and uplifts the world, what would that be? How can you craft those words into meaningful action.?

We will be regularly reviewing social media for comments and to our members and friends at workskunk & Inspired Work.

All that we request, leave any cynicism and contempt at the door.

Send us that sentence. The world needs it. But please give it the time and energy that represents your truth.

Because we need that.
