The Power of ORSC In-Person
When virtual works so well, why are we so excited about our upcoming in-person courses?
Much has been written about in-person communication – the ability to read non-verbal cues, the impact of the physical presence, the science of listening, and the ability to read passion and warmth. Yet, while the raft of scientific evidence seems both convincing and conclusive, technology has shifted the boundaries significantly – with the pandemic accelerating adaptation and technological advancement faster than we could ever have imagined.?
At CRR UK, as with many other businesses worldwide, we’ve worked hard to adopt the newest technologies and techniques to ensure that face-to-face was not the necessity it was in the past. Instead of mourning the ability to work face to face, we work hard to foster a genuine sense of connection that enables participants to feel the same physical presence – to feel connected and engaged—whether in-person or virtually.?
The reasons face-to-face meetings were cited as being crucial to building trust in the past – touch, the ability to read non-verbal signals, attention span etc – have also shifted. Our approach to touching others has changed; high-resolution cameras and screens capture nuances in people’s body language; and attention and engagement in meetings transpires to be far more about creating engaging content and delivery style than the medium through which it is delivered.?
We’ve adapted well to our new hybrid world. We enjoy virtual facilitation, and our clients seem to agree that it works well, often saving them time and money on travel. So, why are we putting so much effort into organising our forthcoming face-to-face Fast Track, which takes place in June and July in London??
The marriage of digital and in-person:?While our minds have adapted to the digital world, our hearts are inherently analogue. Our focus on relationships and systems means that we recognise that people learn in different ways, communicate differently, and have different needs, wants and desires. The face-to-face series gives us the important opportunity to interact, learn and practice in person.?For those of you who have trained digitally, the Fast Track is a great way to revisit the content and experience in-person learning. For those of you who are partially through your journey, why not complete some in-person modules to benefit from the best of both worlds?
Sharpening the tools we have at our disposal:?We believe that the tools we teach, while they adapt well to digital, also deserve the opportunity to be practised, debated, and put centre stage in a room full of like-minded people. The Fast-Track course allows you to share a different experience in the presence of others face-to-face. We also host in-person community events that give people the opportunity to share stories, experiences, and views in small groups.?
Empowering change:?One of the concepts most widely associated with ORSC methodology is world work –?embracing the idea that we are continuously impacting the world, whether we are conscious of it or not. Our curriculum empowers participants to commit to doing something that transforms their relationships and shift their own reality. Attending the in-person series allows you to create new in-person relationships with your learning system, as well as understand how to coach and observe new relationship systems outside of your digital comfort zone.
Welcoming the ORSC curious:?The world of ORSC is a special one. Once you’ve taken a step into it, it stays with you (and you with it, more often than not!). We offer in-person introductory modules throughout the year, with our next one taking place on 15th & 16th June. We were delighted to see so many ORSC curious at our latest in-person community event and it’s great to see so many new faces registering to take part.

1 年As an 'Orsci' about to complete ORSC Certification, which is the next level up from the initial training programme, I cannot recommend this highly enough. It has done wonders to my continuously expanding tool box, and the range of support I can provide to the teams I am working with is simply second to none! This is in addition to the amazing new colleagues and, subsequently, friends I have made as part of this journey. If anyone interested in this training programme would like to have a chat about what they can expect to get out of it - feel free to get in touch.
