The Power of One Woman's Determination: Kani's Story of Making a Difference
Shraddha Maanu
Shraddhamaanu Foundation, is a Not-for-profit organisation working towards creating “Happy and Effective classrooms”.
Kani is a working mother who wanted to make a difference in the world by giving back to her community. However, like many women, she faced challenges and struggles that made it difficult to find the time and resources to pursue her passion for volunteering. Despite these challenges, Kani was determined to make a positive impact on the world, and her journey to discovering the power of volunteerism began when she stumbled upon Shraddha maanu, * a non-profit organization dedicated to the cause of nation building by supporting underprivileged children during their early years of schooling.
As a woman, Kani faced unique obstacles when it came to volunteering. She had to balance her work responsibilities with her family obligations, leaving little time for other pursuits. In addition, the societal pressures placed on women often make it difficult to pursue their passions and dreams outside of traditional gender roles. However, Kani's desire to make a difference in the world motivated her to find a way to give back, even in the face of these challenges.
Kani was intrigued by the Shraddha Maanu's mission and signed up to be a volunteer, initially starting with online sessions to teach the students. She wasn't sure what to expect, but she quickly found herself loving the experience. The children were eager to learn and were so grateful for the opportunity to receive an education. Kani realized that even though she was teaching from afar, she was still making a difference in these children's lives.
But Kani's experience with the online sessions was just the beginning. She wanted to do more, to see the children in person and to experience their joy firsthand. So, she decided to visit Shraddha Maanu in person and take her volunteer activities to the next level.
When Kani arrived at the location of Vipasana Micro center, by Shraddha Maanu, she was greeted by a group of bright-eyed children who were eager to learn. She was struck by how happy the children seemed, despite their difficult circumstances. She soon realized that the children had a resilience and optimism that was hard to find in many adults.
Over the next few weeks, Kani spent her afternoons teaching the children. She was amazed at how quickly they picked up new concepts and how eager they were to learn. She realized that education was something that many of us take for granted, but for these children, it was a precious gift.

But it wasn't just the children who were learning. Kani was also learning a lot from them. She learned the importance of gratitude and appreciation for the little things in life. She saw firsthand how a simple toy or a kind word could make a huge difference in a child's life. She learned that happiness was not about material possessions or wealth, but about the joy of simple pleasures.
Kani's favorite part of volunteering with Shraddha Maanu was seeing the children's faces light up with excitement when they learned something new, How they eagerly shared what they had learned, eager to share their experiences/stories of the day @ school or some fun they had, etc. She realized that education was not just about learning math, science and English, but about giving children the tools they needed to face the challenges of life while creating a future that would elevate them from their current circumstances. She saw how education could be a lifechanger/lifesaver, and she knew that she wanted to be a part of that change.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing. There were days when Kani felt overwhelmed by the classroom environment as a result of the difficult day the children had. She saw firsthand what it meant to be poor and the hardships came along with it, and it broke her heart. But it was in those moments that she knew how important her presence there was. She knew that every child she taught was one step closer to a better future, and that was worth all the hard work and sacrifice.
In the end, Kani's experience with Shraddha Maanu was one that she would never forget. She had come into the organization hoping to make a difference, but she had received so much more than she had given. She had learned the importance of empathy, gratitude, and perseverance. She had seen the power of education to transform lives, and she knew that this was something that she wanted to continue to be a part of.
Kani now urges her friends, family and even some strangers to volunteer with organizations like Shraddha Maanu. She believes that every person has the power to make a difference, no matter how small the contribution. She knows that volunteering can be challenging at times, but she also knows that the rewards are immeasurable. She encourages others to step out of their comfort zones shake off the demands of everyday life and to embrace the opportunity to be a changemaker.
