The Power of Multiple AI Personas Working Together
In the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, the concept of AI personas is transforming the way we work and innovate. I've found that working with AI personas can be extremely powerful for a wide variety of tasks. Initially, I would create a persona for a specific purpose and get the output I was looking for. Then, I’d take it to the next persona, and so on. It then dawned on me: why not simply invoke multiple personas into a single GPT or prompt? When I tried it, the results were incredible. Not only could I interact with each of them individually, but I could also have them interact with each other! I can now create a small team of personas, and we work together on the defined prompted tasks.
Here’s an example. I was working on a presentation and was concerned that the slides might not be conveying the message and story I was trying to present. So, I created a persona that takes an image of a slide, reviews it using multimodal vision, and then narrates the slide back to me. It was simply incredible. I was able to listen to the AI persona presenting my slide and experience the flow and message from a completely different perspective. I even prompted it to check any math on the slide. Wrong math is the number one no-no on slides, trust me. From that, I could make changes to improve my visual and verbal delivery. That persona is called Dynamic Slide Narrator.
I also wanted to be better prepared for reactions, questions, and feedback. In the past, I would share the slides with a trusted coworker for feedback, but I figured that I could easily craft a persona to whom I could send the narration and have it provide questions and suggestions to improve the delivery of the content. I prompted it to be detail-oriented, probing, and tough. This persona I named Executive Insight.
When I used these personas in sequence, I was able to continue the conversation by answering questions and getting responses, learning how to deliver the presentation effectively. This worked great, but it was a bit disjointed as I was dealing with two separate chats and they did not share context.
To solve that, I created a new GPT called Dynamic Slide Narrator with Executive Insights. In this GPT, I invoked the Presenter and Executive Insight personas together. This opened up deeper analysis and feedback. It also allowed me to be a third persona interacting with the two AI personas, effectively creating a small team.
The next step is where things really took off. By invoking multiple personas, I was able to build the prompt to have them engage in a full dialogue together. The Presenter presents, Executive Insight asks questions, the Presenter answers, and so on. Essentially, I had a robust AI role-play that I could use to anticipate how things were going to go. I was able to learn things I had never considered about my content. It was crazy and powerful.

Since then, I’ve created other AI teams to help with different functions. I’ve combined five personas into a single GPT, and they function as expected based on the rules I’ve prompted. Some are there simply to listen and take detailed notes of the conversation. Others engage only at certain points, some are helpful, some are critical, and some only care about specific elements like costs and benefits. The possibilities are endless.
As AI continues to evolve, the integration of multiple AI personas will become more seamless and intuitive. The development of interoperable AI systems, capable of communicating and learning from each other, will further enhance their collaborative potential. This evolution will drive industries toward more intelligent, adaptable, and efficient operations. AI personas working together are a game-changer in the realm of artificial intelligence. By harnessing the diverse strengths of specialized AI personas, we can tackle complex challenges, drive innovation, and create more efficient and effective workflows. Embracing this collaborative approach will shape the future of work, empowering businesses and individuals alike to achieve greater heights.
I urge you to give this a try!
