Power, Money and Beauty

My soon to be wife moved to Los Angeles 12 years ago from London. She loved London and really did not want to leave if possible. When she asked me, what was so great about LA, I told her that, number one, I am a weather wuss and I am also into the glamour, cool cars, and all that Hollywood stuff. How important was that to me? Very important at the time, because I held all the Hollywood Power, Money, and Beauty on a pedestal.

Do things change or what? When you have friends sick and in 2 cases have died from this pandemic, you tend to take another look at your life and what is important. And not just sick friends. When this all started my wife and I both got a cold. I checked the Corona symptoms against a common cold and was pretty sure that I just had a bad cold. What still concerned was that in the 12 years we have been married my wife has never been sick and now she has this bad cold, which I eventually got from her. Was it a bad cold that lasted 2 weeks or Corona? I didn’t have the symptoms, but I still worried a lot about what we had and what would be the outcome.

I preach that things always work out so why worry? Well, I admit I was worried in the face of something that we did not fully understand.

We are well now and going for walks with masks and gloves. They are opening Franklin Canyon this week, a 605-acre park with a lake, a pond and numerous hiking trails. Hard to believe that it is 4 miles from my house, just North of Beverly Hills.

I bet that thoughts of power, money and beauty will pale in comparison to the beauty of nature. Stay safe and healthy.
