The Power of Mentorship

Today marks a significant milestone in my career: nine years at Infosys. Looking back over 17 years in the IT industry, it's been a journey filled with unexpected turns and incredible growth.

My path to IT was anything but conventional. With a background in hospitality, I ventured into the tech world with little more than determination. Early days at Accenture were challenging, to say the least. The steep learning curve and technical jargon were overwhelming. Yet, thanks to an exceptional mentor and manager, I found the support and guidance to persevere.

Mentorship played a pivotal role in my career trajectory. My manager at Accenture, also a non-IT veteran, invested countless hours in teaching me the fundamentals. Their belief in my abilities gave me the confidence to overcome obstacles and build a strong foundation in the industry.

After eight fulfilling years at Accenture, I yearned for a new challenge. Transitioning from pre-sales to marketing without a traditional background was a daunting prospect. While I initially sought this opportunity within Accenture, it became clear that a change of environment was necessary.

Joining Infosys was a turning point. A chance encounter with a former colleague led to a role that ignited my passion for marketing. In the past nine years, I've had the privilege of contributing to various initiatives. Throughout my career, I've learned that success is not solely determined by academic qualifications or technical expertise. A positive mindset, coupled with a willingness to learn and adapt, are essential ingredients for career growth. I encourage aspiring professionals to focus on developing a strong work ethic and a passion for their field, rather than solely pursuing financial gain.

I am immensely grateful for the opportunities, challenges, and unwavering support that have shaped my career. Looking ahead, I am excited to continue contributing to the IT industry and inspiring others to reach their full potential.
