On 9th March 1959, the iconic Barbie doll debuted at the New York toy fair. This means that yesterday was Barbie’s 62nd birthday. Coincidentally it was also my 54th birthday so we have that in common.

Barbie’s Back Story

While researching my latest book, I heard the backstory for Barbie’s creation and it completely changed my perception of the brand. This highlights the power of a magnetic brand story.

Your book changed the way I think about Barbie too Ral! And thanks for suggesting to my sister that she buy me a Barbie so I can move on ??. She bought me two (they must have been on sale)! I went from none to two overnight. It just took me 46 years to get there ??.
