The Power of Laughter

I had to present in front of more than 100 senior managers and was so nervous. "Put a related comic in your slides," said one of my business mentors, with a reassuring smile on his face! He continued confidently, "if you can make them laugh, they won't be hard on you." The day became one of the most successful presentations of my life for one of the most demanding target audiences I've ever had. Of course, many key factors determined my success, but I never underestimated the power of laughter in the workplace again! Nor I was afraid to laugh :))
we are genuine when we laugh,?
we are vulnerable when we laugh,?
we have no guard when we laugh,?
we have less ego when we laugh,?
we are creative when we laugh,?
we are open to possibilities when we laugh,
we are more productive when we laugh,
we are more engaged when we laugh,
As if laughter connects us and makes us united, empathetic and human.
I wanted to talk about this because two days ago, I had a new update on LinkedIn; a laughing emoji. The emoji is activated to reflect fun and humour.?

I am sure many of us have already used the heart emoji on LinkedIn without being concerned if it may imply a lack of professionalism. Not long ago, using heart or any emotional response in a business context was strange and indicated a lack of professionalism. Now, more and more, we can see the need to consider human emotions, feelings and subjectivities for business success.?
From now, how we experience the context shared on LinkedIn and how we experience an interaction with each other has a new perspective: FUN. The network allows laughter!!!?
This means funny contents have a place to share on LinkedIn.
This is how we make the workplace an environment to connect, create, and succeed.?
This is how we improve business culture.?
Do you see how it may look trivial and how LinkedIn is improving the culture here??
Experience innovation begins in workplaces. Improving the organizational culture needs one small step at a time. We need to foster human experiences in the workplace.
When was the last time fun, humour and laughter made you work better?
If you agree, let's show LinkedIn that it was a good idea! Let's react to this post with laughter, LOL!

2 年In India, you can go to the schools of laughter. I recommend it from experience. They started as impromptu events in the streets and developed into more because they were so successful. Dr Kataria was the founder of laughter yoga as he witnessed the jokes were becoming hurtful and decided to connect it to yoga.
