The Power of Journaling

The Power of Journaling

I’m going to make this short and sweet because I don’t want you to spend your time reading. I want you to start writing.

Last week, I mentioned that journaling is a powerful weapon in the fight against negative self talk. One of the main reasons why is because it helps make you aware of patterns you might not otherwise notice. And once you see them—you have the power to change them (which is pretty badass if you ask me). The 0.01%-ers I know, journal every day.

I make it a point to write down my thoughts every single damn day. In fact, I miss it if I don’t. It is a safe place for me to share my darkest thoughts, my proudest moments, my hopes, worries, dreams and fears. I’ve found that even though it is sometimes challenging to see them written down on paper, it’s a lot better than keeping them rolling around in my head. I sleep better because of it. I have a more positive outlook because of it. And I dream bigger because of it.

If you’re new to journaling or feel a little intimidated by the process, I'll be sending out links to four great videos that can help get you started and explain what you can expect to get out of journaling THIS Thursday. SIGN UP HERE for our newsletter to receive the video links.

Onward,

Couldn't agree more with this, Bill. I find journaling especially helpful with ADHD. Getting all those racing, pinging, hypersonic thoughts out of my head and onto paper is soothing and settling and helps me to zero in and focus.

Funny you should bring this up today since I started journaling again after a long hiatus. When I do journal and then go back and look at where I have come from and how God has helped me navigate the waters, it makes appreciate his presence and the lessons I have been taught along the way.
