The Power of Jesus … and Me

There is nobody above Jesus. He is over every name, every principality, every power, every authority. There is no one whom He answers. He is the ultimate power in the universe. Philippians 2:9-11: “Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Understand that when we are saved, we are saved and secure in Christ, and His power is available to us. The apostle Paul wanted us to know we should not live defeated lives. Jesus is the King of kings. Satan, sin, and the grave are all defeated enemies. If Almighty God is the ultimate power and is my best friend through Jesus Christ, then there is nothing in our lives He can’t handle. Ephesians 3:20: “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” After being redeemed and forgiven, it’s common to become entangled in sin during specific periods of our lives. Deep within our hearts, we know we have strayed. Like the prodigal son, we question whether we can ever restore our relationship with God. We feel that our relationship with Him is so damaged that recovery seems impossible, and we have forgotten that God has already taken the most critical step required to forgive all our sins. Sadly, some people really struggle to trust Him to restore them when they sin and fall away. But God, in His incredible love and mercy, often delights in showing His power through Jesus Christ by restoring those who are deeply sorrowful and bringing them back into a saving relationship with Him. God will take that person, elevate them, and help them regain their former faith and strength. If you think you are beyond saving or forgiveness, you are wrong. Christ's power can rescue and restore everyone, no matter their past actions. God intends to restore and improve our lives. Interestingly, some will choose to reject His gift of salvation, which is the key to transforming their lives. Hebrews 7:25:“Therefore He is also able to save forever those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” If we live burdened lives, we can rejoice because God will break the chains that bind us and lift our heavy burdens. He will make a way where there seems to be none. God’s everlasting love and forgiveness are available to all who seek and ask. The question is: will we dedicate our lives to believing it, understanding it, and taking the necessary steps to rely on it? Jesus’ power of complete restoration is available to us. All we must do is receive it.
