Intention can be a powerful force. We all have an intent. For some it is intense, for some it is more with hope. For it is with intention that thoughts are transformed into results, that goals are achieved, that dreams are brought to reality.
The intentions we follow are the ones we really, truly have adopted and empowered with our commitment. What matters are not the intentions we merely talk about, but the ones we actually bring to life with our actions.
Every genuine intention leads to a result. Every intention puts us solidly on the path toward whatever we intend. The trouble is that our intentions so often are contradictory, and end up working against each other. For doubt and fear are intentions just as surely as are confidence and desire.
Imagine for a moment what would happen if we could do away with all those negative, self-defeating intentions. Imagine the spectacular results of giving free reign to our positive, creative, productive intentions.
~To Quote Dr. Wayne Dye, “Say to yourself, ‘I’m here on purpose, I can accomplish anything I desire, and I do it by being in harmony with the all pervading creative force in the universe.’”
According to Dr. Wayne Dyer,
The Essentials of Intention are: Act as if anything you desire is already here. Say to yourself “I’m here on purpose; I can accomplish anything I desire.”
Banish doubt. Don’t doubt your ability to create the life you intended. Be like a mirror, don’t grab onto things or people, and don’t judge either. Be reflective. View obstacles as a way to stay connected to intention. Talk to your ego; tell it has no control over you today. Be aware of low energy, and resolve to bring high energy. Reject thoughts that don’t allow you to match up to intention.
Putting Intention to Work, by extending more respect for others and to all life. Being in a state of gratitude. It’s the same as being in a state of self respect. Hold no grudges, and practice forgiveness. Detach from the outcome. Don’t try to change others. Act as if you see the light in others, and treat them as if that’s all you see Ignore what anyone else tells you about your purpose. Align your purpose with the field of intention. Seize every opportunity, no matter how small, to give your life away in service.
SAY “YES!” “One of the most effective means for transcending ordinary and moving into the realm of extraordinary is saying yes more frequently and eliminating no almost completely. I call it saying yes to life. Say yes to yourself, to your family, your children, your colleagues, and your business…” Dyer continues by urging us to adopt the attitude of the Sufi poet and mystic, Hafez: “I rarely let the word No escape From my mouth, because it is so plain to my soul that God has shouted, Yes! Yes! Yes! To every luminous movement in Existence.” And, the beautiful wisdom from another Sufi, Rumi : You were born with potential. You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness. You were born with wings. You are not meant for crawling, so don’t. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly.”
… Say “Yes!”
Dyer details these “Seven Faces of Intention: Creativity, Kindness, Love, Beauty, Expansion, Unlimited Abundance, and Receptivity.”
Asking ourselves the following questions regularly will do a lot of good:
- How can we be more creative today?
- How can we be more kind today?
- How can we appreciate beauty more today?
- How can we embrace the expansion of our universe and grow today?
- How can we flow with the unlimited abundance of the world today?
- How can we open up to the world more today?
In fact, we are completely free to choose our own intentions, and the ones we choose will determine the results we get. So let’s choose those intentions that truly move us forward, and leave all the rest behind.
