Vince Lombardi was arguably the most inspirational football coach to ever coach in the NFL. He coached the Greenbay packers from 1959-1967 and sported a career record of 96 wins compared to only 34 losses including a 9-1 career playoffs record.
In his book, "Commitment to Excellence", he describes his very first pregame pep talk. Vince was born to coach, he was born to Inspire others, he was born to lead, and he wanted to set the stage for greatness. In order to electrify his players, he decided to delay his entry into the locker room until three minutes before game time.
The players were anxiously awaiting their new head coach when suddenly Vince breaks open the doors, walks up to the players, and yells "ALL EYES ON ME! We will be a successful team if you are able to focus on three things and three things only. 1.Your family 2. Your religion 3. The Green Bay Packers’’!!!
In this weeks Parsha Moshe Rabeinu had brought Klal Yisrael to the outskirts of the promised land. Forty years of leadership is coming to an end. He himself knows that he has completed his personal mission however Klal Yisrael is just about to start their mission of having to conquer the land. Within Moshes impassioned speech he says ‘’?’ ?????? ????? ?????? ??? ???? ???’’ Rashi points out that here the word ?????? connotates the word ??????? on your behalf.
Chassidus teachings compare the conquering of Eretz Yisroel by the Jewish people to the battle that each one of us has within us between our animalistic soul and our divine spirited soul. If we can come to the cognitive reality that Hashem, the master of the universe and the worlds above, is the actual spark of our life source than there is absolutely no life challenge that we can not overcome. According to the teachings of chassidus Moshe Rabeinu is telling each and every one of us this week, "I know that life is extremely difficult but do not worry because I believe in you and your strength to reach into your divine spark, overcome your challenges and grow!"
Another concept that I would like to point out is the positive energy needed to be a leader. When a leader projects feelings of positivity in his team that no matter what the challenges they may face he truly believes in them; that they have the inner strength to persevere, then certainly they will find the strength needed to succeed.
We all must be leaders daily. Whether we are a Parent, Teacher, Coach, C.E.O or friend we need to project that positive energy in every way, verbally or otherwise, so that we can empower those close to us to succeed.
This week I would like to single out a unique individual by the name of Boruch DuBrow. He is an educator, coach, and consultant. I must say I was blown away by the amount of wisdom and positive energy he possesses. His light is warm, kind, helpful, and was very instrumental in removing some of my darkness.
Have a great Shabbos.
