The Power of Heart: Why Heart-Based Leadership Transcends Ego-Driven Approaches

Today, I want to explore the concept of heart-based leadership and why it transcends ego-driven approaches in the workplace. This topic is close to my heart as I mentor global leaders of Fortune 100 companies, helping them navigate ways to deal with ego-driven leaders.

I believe in paying forward my wisdom to others to make a difference, and by sharing experiences, I know we can help each other rise and thrive.

Now, most people reach out for help when they feel beaten, undervalued, and lacking in confidence. A simple 45-second mindset switch can help them see a clear path forward and view the experience as a life lesson and one in which they can actually show the ego-led leader a better way to lead if they step into their shoes and find a solution to WHY that leader behaves the way that they do.

When we own the power of our own story, we anchor to our truth. When we anchor to our truth, we become fearless. When we become fearless, we’re not afraid of judgment or stepping forward. We’re not afraid of what others think (which includes your ego-driven leader!). It becomes irrelevant. I created a five-point story framework?that anyone can do to understand the power of their story so they are no longer afraid of showing up anchored to their truth. It’s a free download on our website, powerful-steps.com.

The mindset switch a Buddhist Monk taught me in Thailand many years ago: anchor to your truth, lean into the challenge, and own your part in what has been created. Make a choice. Marinate in the problem (or sh%t) for 45 seconds, minutes, or years. When you are a heart-based leader who is not affected by others and is in alignment with your own internal truth and power, you can make a decision in 45 seconds that will change not only your life but the lives of those you report to or lead (more on this in my book Self Belief is Your Superpower).

Utilizing the power of the 45-second rule, you will receive flow and abundance simply because you own who you are and understand the power of a mutual exchange of energy (I share more of this powerful exchange and how you can apply it in business and life in our Power Zone Community sessions). You no longer view the ego-led leader as a block but rather a life lesson when you switch your thinking to a higher vibration.

In a world where leadership is often associated with power and authority, it's essential to understand the transformative impact of leading with the heart. Heart-based leadership emphasizes empathy, compassion, and genuine human connection. It recognizes the importance of building relationships, fostering trust, and prioritizing the well-being of the team.

When leaders operate from a place of ego, their decisions may be driven by self-interest, competition, and the desire for personal recognition. This approach can lead to a toxic work environment, diminish employee morale, and hinder organizational growth. In contrast, heart-based leadership cultivates a sense of belonging, encourages collaboration, and inspires individuals to contribute meaningfully.

Lean into your heart - it always knows best and I trust this helps your star shine brightly today!

Much love,
