Coca-Cola: in my early years I was Brand Director for Coca-Cola and I was flying to NYC and met Doug Dicting. He had just interviewed at Coke and was unsure if he was fully interested. In my passion for the amazing company, I shared what made it great. He and his wife Pam moved to Atlanta and ultimately lived next to me on Lenox Rd, and became great friends. And their daughters became equestrians...
Equestrian Estate Gem: over the years, Doug became one of the senior technical leaders at Coca-Cola which took him to an oversea assignment in the UK. My company Fusion 5 was purchased by a top british mega-agency company and led me to a country pub (& numerous pints) to see them. As I was buying waterfront properties in Fairfield Cty in Ct, so they shared a beautiful equestrian farm in Atlanta they were thinking about. I looked at the equestrian assets, the land and location (like I was assessing a waterfront one) and said it was smart investment.
They purchased and upgraded it, loved it for its homeyness, its stables, their daughters use and more. At a later point, they introduced me to their english, world class equestrian friend Kirsten Braden Kopp. Over time, I mentored her marketing wise, then we both joined Sotheby's & now collaborate (Kirsten is our go to 5 Star equestrian expert here in So. Fla.). Again equestrian is linking us all.
Sotheby's: In a serendipitous way, a top Sotheby's realtor in Atlanta, Caren Acheson, was looking for a partner in South Florida for oceanfront estate properties for her clients. Sotheby's connected us. We now collaborate and have become friends. As we are talking one day, I mention my friends the Dichtings, their daughters and horses, and their OMG property. It so happens Caren sold their estate home and became great friends. And we both talked about the magical property. TODAY, the wonderful equestrian estate home, again upgraded to a new level, is being presented by Caren and Sotheby's. A true gem!
