Who is leading you?
I went for my usual power walk early this morning and started having a conversation within me as I sat to meditate.
"If the blind leads the blind both will fall into a ditch" - Jesus the Christ.
It occurred to me that leadership is permitted to be blind but there is double trouble when followership is also blind. A leader isn't usually the best or the most competent so trying to create an infallible image around a leader will ultimately create a blind spot for followers which makes it impossible for them to spot error.
However blind leadership isn't a big problem provided the followers are not blind. What that means is the number one criteria for following a leader is vision because without a personal vision you may land in a destination you never bargained for.
What do you want for your life??Who would you want to become??What's your global image of yourself?
These are critical questions whose answers you must be clear of before you follow a leader. Not having a clear image for your life and what you actually desire can lead you into a route that may never take you to your desired destination.
Blind leadership and blind followership share a common destiny - Ditch
Error is a type of ditch; inability to ask questions is another type; insecurity and spiritual low self esteem is another type. And that is how you know the state of your blindness.
The moment you follow error with your eyes wide open then it's a symptom of blindness.
Discover your truth today and question what contradicts your truth till you are sure whether you are the one in error or your leader. However followership isn't an emotional journey; it's a "decisional" journey that's based on informed choice.
Blind leadership can only lead to the extend of the blindness of the followers.
How do you follow?
