The Power of Focus: A Personal Story About Creating What Matters Most
Have you ever experienced a moment when everything in your life seemed to align effortlessly—like you were riding a wave of clarity and energy that propelled you toward your goals? For me, that alignment often comes when I harness the power of focus.
Let me share a story with you that I hope will resonate deeply.
In 2014, my wife Stephanie and I decided to build our dream home. It wasn’t just about a house; it was about creating a sanctuary that reflected our vision as a family. At the time, generating the kind of income needed for such a monumental goal seemed impossible—until I locked in my focus.
That year, I generated $750,000 through my business. It wasn’t luck or a fluke. It was the result of sustained, intentional energy directed toward a clear outcome. I poured everything into making it happen, from creating new course offerings to maximizing opportunities I’d been sitting on. Every decision I made aligned with this singular goal.
And we made it happen. The house was built, fully furnished with cash, and it became the backdrop for countless memories.
But here’s the thing: After the house was completed, the desire to sustain that level of income faded. The goal was fulfilled, and my focus naturally shifted elsewhere. And you know what? That was okay. It taught me a crucial lesson: Our energy flows to where our focus goes, and our focus changes as our priorities evolve.
Another example comes from my fitness journey. Back in November 2014, I committed to working out six days a week, every week. For over five years, I kept that promise. My mornings started with a trip to the gym, guided by a deeply ingrained routine that, looking back, was like an app called “Gym Rat” installed in the operating system of my mind.
But when the pandemic hit in 2020, gyms closed, routines were disrupted, and my focus shifted. Without systems in place to track my habits, I lost the momentum and rhythm I'd built. The "app" that had been running so smoothly for years suddenly crashed.
I’ve since rebuilt that rhythm and learned to create safeguards—weekly reviews, habit trackers, and intentional reminders to keep my priorities front and center. But the experience underscored something vital: Even our best routines require conscious focus to sustain.

Take a moment to reflect: Where is your focus currently directed? Are you investing your energy in what truly matters most to you? If not, what adjustments could you make to align your attention with the life you want to create?
Remember, where your focus goes, your energy flows. What will you choose to create with your own creative energy?

1 个月Sometimes, business is not enough to keep our focus, and we need hobbies. We need a place to stop and refocus our energies. But when we do that, we experience guilt because we are supposed to be working.
