The Power of Five: The Latin Explosion
Some employees are better than others. There was one day last week when may Latino (and Latina) colleagues were around. Friendly people make all the difference. For one brief shining moment there were friendly people around me.
Management wants to fill holes. They could not care less about dynamics or having friendly people work together. All they care about is money. The friendly people- brief encounters have resonated more than listening to colleagues talk about how much they lose while gambling.
I am in a cycle with three flights in three weeks. How can I afford it? Not gambling, for starters. It's one thing when you visit a casino. That could be written of as an entertainment expense and a memorable night.
When you download an app- I learned the hard way that double or nothing never causes you to end on "Double". No, you end up with nothing. The pain of losing is always worse than the joy of winning feels good.

None of which has to do with friendly new employees. Usually they are kept away from me. I enjoy showing new employees different things. That is how I was trained. People want to learn. My supervisor shoots dirty looks as if I am teaching an Afghani girl how to read.
That's how life is. It never stopped me from being a beacon of light to new employees. For all I know I am their first impression of the company. Make it a good one. The friendly people who were together for one shift- gravitate towards people who are friendly and helpful. Hopefully it inspires someone else to bring out their best.
Find people you cannot get angry around. Work is frustrating at times. Every job is aggravating occasionally. The ones who inspire something better- gravitate towards them. It will lead to a better experience.
