The Power of Feminine Leadership

I had a dream last night about the Cyrus Cylinder which isn’t something I am consciously aware of knowing about and so I found it delightfully reaffirming this morning when my research revealed that it is an ancient Persian clay cylinder on which is written what is thought to be “the first declaration of human rights.”
This is significant as I am wholly focused this year on refining our thinking around the Power of Feminine Leadership and what the reintroduction of this could mean to community and society. The Cylinder represents liberation and freedom to many cultures and religions and I think that now more than ever we need to embrace feminine leadership to liberate us from the masculine constraints of power and divisiveness.
Many people assume that masculine and feminine leadership energies are gender specific and that has created a collective unconscious bias that prevents us as individual, unique human beings to step authentically into finding our personal balance within the energies.
Masculine and feminine are like yin and yang. They are both essential for us as a species to survive and thrive with each other and on this planet. Masculine is a focus on self and therefore survival and feminine is a focus on other and the ability to thrive.
If as a person you focus solely on self and are in the masculine, the decisions you make will not be symbiotic and collaborative. If you focus solely on others in the feminine, you may prioritise the survival of others over and above yourself.
This is the current reality we have created not only in our homes but in our organisations and governments. Men who are taught that they have to be masculine are leading in a way that is focused on survival. Meaning that competition, the quest for power, divisiveness and fear are being used to create patriarchal hierarchies that lack true creativity and connectivity.
Lets take a moment to think about that. As a society we have spent the last 200 years making decisions based on surviving rather than thriving.
What excites me going forwards is how the Power of Feminine Leadership can change all of this and it truly feels like 2019 is going to be a significant historical turning point for this happening.
Feminine Leadership belongs to all of us. It is a state of being that recognises and understands that we are on this planet to connect, learn, share and evolve. Feminine leadership creates space in cultures for unique creativity, inclusiveness, collaboration and supportive competition. Those that step authentically into their feminine when leading are able to demonstrate insight, kindness and the desire to energetically connect to and unlock true potential in others.
Just reading those words I feel energised and enthused about the future. Imagine organisations and enterprises that are seeking to be the best versions of themselves to raise the bar for and collaborate with other like minded organisations. Imagine having truly diverse talent that is able to step authentically and creatively into leadership action regardless of hierarchy.
Rather than just focusing on developing female leaders this year, lets put our collective global efforts into empowering every person in a position of leadership to tap into both their feminine and masculine energies in a way that empowers everyone around them to do the same.
As an organisation we have committed to weaving this mindset and culture change into every programme we are delivering at every level around the world. From working strategically with policy and leadership decision makers to the philanthropic work we deliver in schools, 2019 will led by our desire to create effortless abundance for all through the Power of Feminine Leadership.

6 年Sometimes you get lucky! Me? I hit the jackpot when I first met Tiffany Kelly?years ago in a very social context, hung out a lot. Over the years, we sent messages to and fro checking up on health, wealth, job, life in general. I also watched her passion become volcanic over the years. I had the good fortune to see her in Singapore couple of years ago when she traveled to Singapore.? I am unable to find a higher metaphor than volcanic. :-) Brilliant, passionate and a very happy soul!?
