The Power of Faith and Belief: Planting Seeds of Change
To be honest, there are a number of things I want to write about. I've written maybe 20-odd blogs, and none of them feel quite complete. Some need stronger introductions, some feel too long and require editing, while others need better endings.
I've been debating whether to delve deeper into my personal observations on mental health and illness, particularly my experience with a mental breakdown. I'm also drawn to discussing influence, culture, community, and personal development, all while weaving in themes of identity and spirituality.
While I won’t stray far from these concepts, today I want to highlight belief and faith.
Let’s start with some basic definitions. Abraham Hicks once said, "Belief is a thought you continue to think." I agree. There are things we hear, absorb, and repeat to ourselves so often that they become fixtures in our minds—truths, even. We've thought a particular thought for so long that it solidifies into a belief. This belief becomes a lens through which we view our reality, continually shaping our existence.
The Holy Bible says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). To me, faith is the proof of one's belief. Faith is the knowingness of what already is, the magnetism that pulls in, manifests, and reveals what is already yours.
Many great teachers of manifestation speak about being in resonance, or in tune, with what you desire. I see faith as the clearing of the path to what is calling toward you.
However, we often create conflict between where we are and where we want to be, between what we want and what we have. Sometimes, we unknowingly hold beliefs that contradict the faith we want to employ. I often hear people quote the scripture, "You only need faith the size of a mustard seed" (Matthew 17:20). Yet, in the same breath, they express disbelief in the possibility of receiving the lifestyle, idea, or item they desire. That scripture also mentions that you cannot doubt.
Let’s take a moment to talk about doubt and delusion.

A mustard seed, compared to many other seeds, is incredibly small, but it produces something so grand (Google it!). Yet, when you’re doubtful, it’s like planting the seed in the ground, only to dig it up and put it back in your pocket. Can it grow? Sure. But is it in the correct position and place to grow? Absolutely not.
Sometimes, we hold strong beliefs that are counteractive to our faith, like throwing the seed onto concrete. Can it grow? Maybe, but it’s unlikely. It’s not on fertile ground or in the right soil.
Then, there are times when we have decent soil and good space. This is when we have great faith in certain circumstances or situations, but we surround ourselves with people who speak negatively about our situation. This is like planting the seed in the ground, but failing to water it, or perhaps using too many pesticides too soon, killing the seed before it has a chance to take root.
In any case, build your faith in knowing, and cast away all doubt.
When it comes to yourself, your thoughts, and your abilities—be delusional! I hear so many people being delusional about relationships, believing in others. I think you should definitely be delusional about yourself. Have no doubt that you are amazing and that you can achieve anything you set your mind to, with ease.
Create a positive belief about yourself and your abilities that may seem delusional to most, but keep thinking about it until it becomes unwavering within you. This way, any action you take toward your goals or ideas creates simple steps or avenues for your success.

6 个月Wonderful post, Jamekia! It definitely resonates with me as I have always felt a strong pull to the word “faith” since I was a child. Always looking for new ways to define it on my life journey and how to truly embody it. “Faith is the knowingness of what already is, the magnetism that pulls in, manifest, and reveals what is already yours.” Powerful words! Thank you!
