Here is this fortnight's epic tip, epic thought and epic trivia.
EPIC Tip
The "E" in the EPIC Formula? stands for Exposure. It's not about who you know, but who knows you and how you can add value.
However, there's a deeper layer to consider: understanding why you want to help them. Connecting with this deeper purpose can transform your efforts from merely being known to truly making a difference.
EPIC Thought
"This generation of women who are now at the highest level of football also have another purpose that comes with their visibility: to try and make the world a better place for the next generation." Sarina Wiegman - Dutch Football Manager
EPIC Trivia
Caitlin Clark, the all-time leading scorer in NCAA basketball history, began her pro career with a record-breaking Nike endorsement worth up to $28 million over eight years. Despite lucrative deals with Nike, Gatorade, State Farm, and Gainbridge, Clark did not make the list of the world's 50 highest-paid athletes this year; no woman did. The top-paid female athlete in 2023, tennis player Iga ?wi?tek, earned $23.9 million, falling short of the $45.2 million needed to make the top 50 overall.
There was only one woman in last year's top 50 highest-paid athletes list - Serena Williams - who has appeared six times in the last decade. Other women in the top 50 since 2012 include Maria Sharapova, Li Na, and Naomi Osaka.

The disparity in earnings is largely due to lower league revenues and broadcasting income for women's sports. The WNBA's media rights bring in about $60 million annually, while the NBA earns around $3 billion. However, women’s sports revenue is growing, with Deloitte projecting $1.28 billion in 2024, a significant increase from previous years.
That said, female athletes are making progress. The median earnings of the top 20 female athletes rose to $8.5 million last year from $7.3 million in 2022, and the number of athletes earning $10 million or more doubled from three years ago. Brands are increasingly endorsing female athletes, and promising stars like Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, Nelly Korda, Rose Zhang, Coco Gauff, and Aryna Sabalenka are emerging.
The gender pay gap is everywhere - but as more brands see the value in women's sports, there is hope for a future where there is parity in sport.
