The Power Experience | Step 1 | Executive Alignment?

Through lived experience, we have found several keys to bring Power Platform into an organization and will share over this and future posts. There are many more, however these seem to top the list as we continue to bring on more and more firms who are realizing the benefits of scaling firm wide.

Keys to success and executive alignment

1. Business champions - aligning with a small handful of business leaders who are spending more on competitive technology, have stressed budgets, are people constrained, and are being forced to do more with less.
2. Business use cases - targeting profit centers, we will envision early apps that are contributing to revenue gains, reduced risk, and reductions in cost. Apps, flows, and bots can be used for a dozen, to a few hundred, to an enterprise app, for employees, contractors, and consultants.
3. Business owner to bring and commit budget - each use case should have a business owner who also has budget authority. When the time comes to get a deal done, we need these leaders to come to the table.
4. Executive engagement - when the first three bullets here are ready (but not necessarily required) it's time to bring in the executive leadership team for their support and commitment to the process. It's important to ensure that when we are successful with the Power Experience, they will support the investment. Oh, and by the way, we will have an initial proposal and business case (Business Value Assessment "BVA") to present.

Microsoft and our partners also have roster of executives who will engage the right people at the right time to serve as that direct point of executive contact. This can be invaluable for senior engagement in initial stages and as needs progress throughout the adoption lifecycle.
