The Power of the EOS? Organizational Checkup: Measuring Growth and Traction

The Entrepreneurial Operating System? (EOS?) is an incredible tool for companies looking to simplify, clarify, and achieve their vision. Among the many tools EOS? offers, the Organizational Checkup? stands out as a cornerstone for measuring growth and gaining traction. By providing a clear, honest assessment of your organization’s strengths and weaknesses, the Organizational Checkup? helps leaders gauge their progress and make informed decisions about where to focus their energy.?
What Is the EOS Organizational Checkup??
The Organizational Checkup? begins with 20 questions, each rated on a scale of 1 to 5. These questions are designed to evaluate your company’s performance in the Six Key Components? of any business:
By answering honestly, leadership teams can identify which areas are holding the organization back and prioritize solutions to address these gaps. Over time, these metrics reveal how effectively EOS? is driving your business forward.
A Case Study: From 40% to 85.25% in Just 18 Months
In late 2022, a client engaged an EOS Implementer to bring clarity and focus to their organization. Their initial Organizational Checkup? score was 40%, revealing significant room for improvement across all Six Key Components?. In April 2023, I was brought on as their Integrator to help implement and drive EOS? within the company. My role was to lead, manage, and hold the leadership team accountable for achieving results, ensuring that EOS? wasn’t just a theoretical framework but a practical driver of growth. By December 2023, during annual planning, the organization’s rating had increased to 76.25%. By the end of 2024, it reached an impressive 85.25%. The leadership team was thrilled to see such tangible evidence of traction despite the challenges and noise of the previous 18 months. This upward trajectory highlighted a key insight: progress was happening all along, even when day-to-day challenges made it difficult to see.?
The Gain, Not the Gap
This case study is a powerful reminder of Dan Sullivan’s concept in The Gap and the Gain. Visionaries and leaders often focus on the gap between where they are and where they want to be. This perspective can be discouraging, especially when progress feels slow. However, by focusing on the gain—the distance traveled, and the milestones achieved—leaders can maintain perspective, motivation, and confidence in the journey. The Organizational Checkup? provides that objective lens, enabling leadership teams to quantify their progress and celebrate accomplishments. For Integrators, this tool is invaluable for keeping teams aligned and ensuring that every step forward is intentional and measurable.?
Are You Ready for Traction?
If you’re a Visionary business owner struggling to break through the ceiling of difficult growth, EOS? can transform your company. The first step is engaging with an EOS Implementer for a 90-Minute Meeting. This session introduces EOS? to your leadership team, assesses its fit for your organization, and sets the stage for implementation. As a Fractional Integrator, I work with companies that are fully engaged with EOS? and an EOS Implementer but aren’t yet ready to hire a full-time Integrator. My role is to help Visionaries step out of the Integrator role so they can focus on their unique ability and drive the company forward.?
