The power of the entrepreneurial spirit

The pandemic has affected small and emerging businesses across the globe; and while many companies had to shutter this year, particularly in black and brown communities, they will rise again. These entrepreneurs are resilient and have real grit.

Today, entrepreneurial spirit is more important than ever before. 2020 has tested the mettle of thousands of entrepreneurs, with business owners navigating revenue shortfalls, changed consumer habits and disrupted supply chains. On top of that, the fast pace of innovation means that we can order nearly anything online, from cars to groceries, and businesses must evolve or be left behind.

That’s why we are so excited about the launch of the EY Entrepreneurs Access Network – a business accelerator and executive-level educational program designed to elevate high-potential Black and Latinx-owned companies. Through access to mentors, resources and networks, both emerging and established enterprises will cultivate their entrepreneurial spirit so they can sustainably scale their businesses and drive economic growth.

Across the country, resilient and creative entrepreneurs are responding to today’s challenges with a spirit of enthusiasm and ingenuity that’s core to the success of every entrepreneur. Similarly, we hope to grow the reach and impact of EY’s Entrepreneurs Access Network to benefit the high-potential Black and Latinx-owned companies who contribute to our economy and local communities daily. The stakes are high - the very future of our economy, and society, demands nothing less.
