Power, Energy & Influence

Jeffrey Pfeffer's book Power: Why Some People Have It—and Others Don’t explores the dynamics of power, how to acquire it, and how to use it effectively. Rodrick Kramer's course on Creating a Life of Consequence at first glance seems in contrast. But from an energetic perspective, focused on living a life of possibility and purpose, key alignments include:

Self-awareness and Authenticity: Jeffrey and Rod both emphasize the importance of understanding oneself and being authentic. Energetically, this aligns with knowing one's true self and living in alignment with one's higher purpose. Recognizing and embracing your unique strengths and values can lead to a more fulfilling and impactful life.

Mindfulness and Presence: Both courses discuss the importance of being present and mindful in interactions. Energetically, mindfulness fosters deeper connections, greater empathy, and an awareness of the present moment, all of which contribute to living a life of possibility and purpose.

Service and Contribution: While Jeffrey often highlights strategic moves to gain power, from a energetic perspective, Rod emphasizes that true power comes from contributing to the greater good. Using one's influence to uplift and empower others can create a ripple effect of positive change.

Resilience and Adaptability: Jeffrey and Rod both emphasis the importance of resilience in the face of setbacks. Energetically, this can be seen as trusting the journey, learning from challenges, and viewing obstacles as opportunities for growth and transformation.

Connection and Community: Building a strong network or community is a key theme in both courses. From an energetic viewpoint, fostering genuine connections and creating a supportive community are essential for a purposeful and interconnected life.

Vision and Intention: Jeffrey and Rod both know the importance of having a clear vision and setting intentions. Energetically, this aligns with manifesting one's goals through visualization, intention-setting, and aligning actions with flow.

By integrating insights of power, and consequence, with an energetic approach, one can harness personal and professional influence in ways that are grounded in authenticity, service, and a deeper sense of purpose. This synthesis can help individuals navigate their paths with greater clarity, compassion, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
