Today I want to talk about the importance of empathy.
Empathy simply means that you are putting yourself in the shoes of other people and are ready to feel what they feel. Simulate the emotions of the other person and connect with them. Empathy is the single biggest reason why humankind has come this far in evolution. We connect with other people and become hive minds. We can operate as a team. The only thing that separates humans from other species of animals is our ability to communicate in the language with each other.
We first invented numbers, then sign language, and then words that can be communicated vocally. It took a long time before we created written words. And initially, written words couldn't be replicated through a printing press. Written words were in stone tablets and there was only a single copy of everything ever written.
Only in the 17th century, Gutenberg invented the printing press and then we got the power of replication. We could print 100s and 1000s of copies of the same written content and spread the information. But it was still slow and limited. Newspapers still couldn't move across the globe very fast. Then came the radio, then the telephone, then the TV, and today we have the internet which can transmit audio, video, and text, across the globe in a fraction of a second.
We are living in very powerful times. Everything is going digital, including money.
And how do we make the best use of it? By watching cat videos on YouTube and liking random pics on Instagram?
No.
We make the best use of these times and these technologies by being creators. We can create rich audiovisual content and let the whole world watch it as soon as we publish it.
But to make our content effective, we need empathy.
We need to learn what our readers want. We have to learn what are their pain points, problems, and frustrations. And through our content creation, we have to solve it. One of the main reasons content creators fail in their careers is because of a lack of empathy. They just don't care enough about others.
Just think about it. Would this course have been successful if I had just wanted to make some money selling a course? I have written 50,000+ words so far just for this course and I do it only because I care for you and the other people on my email list who are reading my words.

I genuinely care and want to help you with lead generation and I get immense satisfaction in doing so.
And if you want to succeed as a content creator, you need to have the most scarce commodity that most of your competitors do not have and will not ever have. Empathy. Care.
That's the secret.
I hope you liked this lesson. See you in the next lesson.
Cheers,
