Choosing Words That Heal:
?The words we choose can make a huge difference in how we connect with others. Here are some examples of emotionally intelligent (EQ) responses that can foster positive communication and strengthen relationships."
?
1.? Insensitive: "Must be nice to take a vacation so often." EQ-Savvy: "I’m so glad you’re taking time for yourself! I hope you have an amazing trip."
2.? Insensitive: "You look tired today." EQ-Savvy: "Is everything going okay? If you need anything, I’m here for you."
3.? Insensitive: "Wow, you’re still single?" EQ-Savvy: "You have so much going for you! I know great things are ahead for you."
4.? Insensitive: "You bought that? I could never afford it." EQ-Savvy: "That’s an awesome purchase! You’ve clearly worked hard for it."
5.? Insensitive: "You’re still at that job?" EQ-Savvy: "It’s great to see your commitment. How are things going for you there?"
6.? Insensitive: "Another baby? You must be crazy!" EQ-Savvy: "What an exciting time! You’re going to have a lot of love around you."
7.? Insensitive: "Why haven’t you called me back?" EQ-Savvy: "I know life gets busy, just wanted to check in and see how you’re doing."
?
"Your words can either be daggers or they can reflect love, empathy, and appreciation. By choosing them thoughtfully, you can uplift and strengthen your relationships instead of unintentionally causing harm."
