"The Power of Education" FWE Annual Gala 2023

Tomorrow marks two months since I received a PhD in Education and International Development from the 英国剑桥大学 . It was a proud moment for many reasons but most importantly a testimony of the transformative power of education.

Some Ghanaian media including Asaase radio reported the story with the narrative by my mentor, Mr Ben Dotsei Malor (Former Chief Editor - Dailies, UN News at?United Nations), who I affectionately call Uncle Ben. I keep receiving many congratulatory messages and they continue to encourage me. I am thankful to everyone.

I recently shared my childhood story on a global story telling platform called To My Younger Self. The team at To My Younger Self hosts inspiring Africans and African descendants to share their success stories. I am the youngest personality to be on the show so far and I appreciate the opportunity.

I share my story because, I promised my 10-year-old self that “I will go to school to the highest level so that every girl (child) will know that it is possible”. Therefore, I cannot keep this story to myself, my 10-year-old self is confident that her determination can inspire many more children and that why it is important I keep sharing.

Social media has made this possible, but I am devoted to using every avenue to share my educational journey to inspire many children and youth. My modest background is what makes the association between my story and that of many children and youth strong.

Therefore, I am elated to be delivering a keynote address at the Forum for World Education Annual Gala at the The Penn Club of New York on Friday the 22nd of September about the Power of Education. It is an honour to share this story in the presence of relevant stakeholders such as Andreas SCHLEICHER and many others to highlight why their commitment to education remains non-negotiable. It is an opportunity for me to call for a global renewed dedication to ensure that every child can access quality, equitable, affordable, and resilient education.

I am on a mission! A responsibility to my 10-year-old self who imagined a future of possibilities afforded by education.
