I welcome you to the July edition of your motivating, inspiring and life-changing Newsletter: ''The Pathway to Happiness'' https://lnkd.in/eZcMEhbE .
??In today's episode, I will discuss with you the topic I titled, ''The Power To Decide.''
I want to start by saying that the results most people have experienced in life were predominantly determined by the cycles of decisions and choices they have made, which could be either good or bad.
??This brings me to my main point; The Power To Decide or the Freedom of Choice is a fundamental Universal Law that can empower you to make Personal Decisions and become Responsible for the Results in your life.
??In the words of the late Architect, Author, Philosopher and Futurist Buckminster Fuller, ''We are called to be architects of the future, not its victims.''
This brings me to my next point; as a leader creating an enabling environment that encourages your team to take advantage of their Powers To Decide, would empower them to be more creative and productive, and contribute to the overall success of that company.
This is because of the benefits that great ideas and quick decision-making will bring to the environment, which is capable of cutting through the noise of bureaucracy.
??I want you to imagine working or living under a condition where you cannot take advantage of the Power to make Personal Decisions or exercise your Freedom of Choice, probably due to Incarceration, Ignorance, Procrastination, or bad leadership.
In the case of Incarceration, the Freedom of Choice and the Power To Decide are often taken away from those who are confined within the physical walls of the prisons, or those trapped as prisoners in their minds.
The story of trans-Atlantic slavery is a good example of the case of Incarceration because the slaves were stripped of their Freedom and human dignity.
Moreover, even though slavery was abolished, there are still many people, especially within the BAME communities who are still victims of mental slavery, colonialism, bad governance and leadership.
??This is mainly due to limiting beliefs and disempowering ideologies and policies that have kept them captives and unable to take full advantage of the freedom of choice and the power to make decisions that can positively transform their lives.
??I like how Marcus Garvey puts it, "We are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery because whilst others might free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind."
??Hence, those who know will always rule over those who do not, by taking advantage of the knowledge gaps.
In the Digital Age, the gap between the rich and the poor will significantly increase due to the feudal system created by the Knowledge-based Economy and driven by Digital colonisation and disruptions.
??This polarisation between the rich and the poor, the slaves and the masters will be facilitated through disruptive technologies, disruptive business models and strategies that will displace companies and individuals who fail to upskill and adapt to emerging technologies.
??In the words of the late Author, Philosopher and Futurist Alvin Toffler, ''The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn.''

This brings me to my final point; the Power to make Personal Decisions and take responsibilities that can positively transform someone's life could be hindered by Procrastination because the Procrastinator is not better than the Ignorant.
??Furthermore, continuous improvement is always better than delayed perfection, because the speed of execution transforms knowledge into positive results.
??In the words of the former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, ''Perfection is the enemy of progress.''
In conclusion, on both personal and corporate levels, the power of your decisions can have significant positive or negative impacts in your life and the lives of the people that are dependent on you.
On the corporate and business levels, the power of decision could mean the survival or the sinking of an organisation. Likewise, on a personal level, the power of decision could mean the success or failure of an individual.
??This notwithstanding, the cost of indecision has more dire consequences, because whenever you decide without procrastination, you will have the opportunity to use the feedback from the result for iteration and continuous improvement until you get the perfect result.
As a final question, I would like to ask, ''What are you going to do today with your Power To Decide or the Freedom of Choice that can make a valuable impact in your life and the lives of others?''
??This reminds me of the words from the sage, ''One generation plants the seed, the next plays in the shade.''
