What does it take to challenge the entire supply chain of a longstanding industry? Our founders Scott Tannen & Missy Tannen share the incredible story behind Boll & Branch on this week’s episode of How I Built This with Guy Raz, a podcast featuring interviews with the world’s most inspiring entrepreneurs. What started over 10 years ago as a simple remodel of their bedroom has blossomed into upending the bedding industry’s conventions by doing things the right way, never the easy way—and creating the world’s softest bedding in the process. Missy, our Chief Product Officer, shares, “For us, it wasn’t about sourcing a product, it was about making it from scratch, and knowing everything about it from start to finish. We just wanted to know that the people on the other side of the world who were making our product weren’t being taken advantage of.” For Scott, our CEO, it sparked the question, “What if we’re not just building a business, but proving something?” Rather than being “a part of the system,” he has remained focused on Boll & Branch leading by example with full traceability in our supply chain, showing the world that there is a better way to do business. The eclipse is only the second most exciting thing happening today… ?? That’s right: Rhett and Link are on How I Built This!! Best friends Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal started out as “comedians for Christ,” and grew their partnership into one of the most successful YouTube platforms in existence. During college they created silly videos and songs for Christian events, and later built a following on YouTube before most people knew what it was. After struggling to find stardom in Hollywood, they continued to build a presence on YouTube: sampling punishingly hot peppers, writing ear-wormy songs about random things, showing off glasses that turned the world upside down. Nowadays, their entertainment company, Mythical, reports over 75 million subscribers and 25 billion lifetime views. https://lnkd.in/eu9QM_HG Hear the story of Mythical today on #HowIBuiltThis!! #rhettandlink #mythical #podcast #goodmythicalmorning #business #youtube

Seventeen years ago last week, our journey began in a humble little full-service restaurant in Rockville, MD... We sat down with Guy Raz to talk about How WE Built This - the origins of CAVA and how we evolved from that single restaurant into a national, category-defining Mediterranean fast casual and all the missteps and challenges along the way. #cava #restaurants #fastcasual #mediterranean #healthyeating #entrepreneurs #entrepreneurship Listen here ?? to How I Built This with Guy Raz... https://lnkd.in/ew7k52Mq
