The Power of Critique

Constant and Never Ending Improvement is a guaranteed way toward consistent and continued progress. Constant improvement is not just a part of my work but also a part of my personality. How can I get better at what I do? How can I be a better person? are questions I address daily.
But sometimes, in all humility I must say, I am not able to see "where" and "how" I could have done what I did, better. That's when comes in the importance of critique, criticism or evaluation, that you purposefully invite with the intention of improvement in your craft.
There is always a 40% improvement in my final book from the first draft that I write. I get professional critique on the story, the writing style, the pace, the language and more. And in utilising that feedback I am able to drastically improve the quality of my story telling.
As much as I have been awarded the pedestal of bestselling author and have been bestowed 31 International Awards, I choose to believe that I still am limited by my own creative intellect. I need more eyes to see what I missed to see, to question what I missed to tell and to point out what I as an author may not have fully understood. I can't imagine any success that I have achieved without the watchful guard of the critics that contributed to the excellence they helped me achieve.
In my humble opinion getting a timely and professional critique of your work could add a lot of value to your work, where the road ahead will become the one glorified with recognition and awards.
And while I say that, with great pride I share with you that my 10th book, The Wise Man Said won TEN International Book Awards, making it my 31st International award as an author. And… it is soon going to be a web series on ZEE5. If you haven't read it already, may I take the liberty of putting a strong recommendation that it's a great book :).
The Wise Man Said is an inspiring adventure built into 12 short stories. When an 80-year-old billionaire decides to roam the world without an identity and without any money, you know that life changing adventures are to follow:). Writing the story of Sammy has been my greatest achievement for in putting the stories together I became the greatest beneficiary of the message, it changed my life. I wish the same for you.
