The Power of Conversation

Good words are worth much and cost little. George Herbert

?

Conversation can lift our spirits and give us hope or knock us down, causing emotional pain. We all know the power of our words. We all know when a conversation has enriched our day and when it hasn’t.

?

Over the past few months, I’ve edited many of the Identity Conversations my colleague and DNA Behavior Chairman and Founder Hugh Massie has had with industry leaders. People from all industries and at every stage of their careers.

?

The intention of the Conversations with leaders and professionals was to understand the role and impact of their talents, EQ, and behavior in shaping their life and how that had changed as they revealed their identity through completing the DNA Behavior Discovery process.

?

I have listened to all of them ( and incidentally so can you – just head over to https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnAWy5R7Fsk5NEsFIHLetJw/videos ), and what I have learned is the power of stories.

?

Listening to the journeys of these men and women is nothing short of inspirational. Today they are at the head of their chosen profession, but that’s not where they started.

?

Maybe as you’re reading this, you are suffering Covid fatigue; perhaps you are restless in your career; maybe you are facing a storm in your life – don’t give up.

?

Many who’ve gone before you have broken through challenges and live an abundant, confident, happy life, often because they took time to understand their behavior and figure out their identity.

?

I hope you take the time to listen to some of these mainly unedited videos. You get raw stories. You get to be a part of their life journey.

?

Don’t compare yourself to these people; you are on your journey. But be encouraged; many admit they are still on a learning curve made more accessible because they now understand why they say and do things.

?

For example:

·??????Why do some colleagues, friends, and even partners irritate them and cause emotional reactions?

·??????Knowing how to relate to others who take forever to decide while others make instant decisions.

·??????Having a deeper understanding of why some have difficulty with change and others are looking for opportunities.

·??????Why some people are spenders and others savers.

?

True identity is when you understand behavioral diversity within yourself and others.

?

Whatever age you are, wherever you are on life’s journey, we live in the moment and often react to daily life challenges. But for those who shared their stories with Hugh, there was a moment (maybe more than one) when they took control of a situation, whether their financial needs, lack of direction, goals or plans, and importantly their decision making.

?

That’s when their true Identity was revealed.

?
