The power of community

I've been thinking about community a lot recently.

How do communities form and what keeps them connected? How are communities evolving in response to the digital age? And how can we leverage the power of community to make the world a better place?

The idea of community was brought home for me recently after two separate, but equally worthwhile, fundraising activities. The power of community was harnessed to raise money. But more than that – the individuals were supported and encouraged by the community on both occasions. The power of community is unmistakable.

Recognising this, Insights has put community at the heart of our new business strategy. We’re daring to imagine a world where our global Insights community brings connectedness, belonging and stability in a disruptive world. As a business, we’ve challenged ourselves to build a global network of millions of people who are connected to Insights, and each other, through the magic of Insights. We believe that if we can do this, we can achieve our Purpose, ‘to create a world where people truly understand themselves and others and are inspired to make a positive difference in everything they do.’

For us, that community also starts at home which is why our business strategy begins with our investment in our teams here at Insights. The power of this community, demonstrated through the recent fundraising activities, was the inspiration for this post. And given the way our teams supported these activities, I know we’ll be successful in our endeavour.
