The Power of Commitment

Commitment is one of the most powerful forces we can harness in our lives. It’s about the power of your word and the strength it takes to keep it, even, or maybe especially, when you want to give up.
Case in point: I have a love-hate relationship with writing -. - Whether it's the process of sitting still to write (or maybe it's just the act of sitting still) that I dislike or my internal drive to get it “just right” (and not always feeling that I do), I need to summon up my will and energy when it’s time for me to write. , In spite of that, for the past two years, I've written messages like this for the Find Your Music community (and quite a few other things) every month. I am proud of the resilience and the 'muscle' I’ve built through this practice. This journey has taught me two important lessons.?
The first lesson is that commitments are powerful. Whether it's five people or 500 people reading, the commitment to write, in itself, is enough. Keeping a promise, even if “just” to yourself, is an act of strength and integrity.
The second lesson is about support. There have been times, especially in the past few months, when I just wanted to stop, to quit entirely. But frankly, my team wouldn’t let me. Their reply to my inquiry, “Is anyone even reading this?” was simple: “It doesn’t matter.” They challenge me, and that’s one reason I have (and love) my team. We all need a structure, a team that supports, challenges, and champions us, especially when we're tired and ready to give up.?
Ready to commit to commitment? Here’s what I suggest.
