The Power of Choosing Your Future Over Your Past

The Power of Choosing Your Future Over Your Past

This past weekend, I finally did something I’ve wanted to do for years—I attended a Dr. Joe Dispenza event in person.

Picture this: 8,000 people in a room.

Diving deep into the science of transformation. Shifting their emotional states in real-time. Meditating at a level that feels like rewiring reality itself.

It was electrifying.

I’ve always been committed to my own growth—not because it’s interesting, but because it’s essential.

The work I do demands it.

As a thinking partner, executive coach, and trusted advisor, I don’t just offer insights—I embody them. I walk the path I invite others to walk.

And this experience? It sharpened that commitment like a blade.

Looking Forward Instead of Backward

One of the biggest wake-up calls from the event was this:

What if I stopped telling stories about my past—and started speaking from my future?

Not where I’ve been, but where I’m going. Not just what’s happened, but what I’m building. Not the challenges, but the possibilities.

What if I spoke and led from the future already in motion?

For the women I work with—who are here to change the game, to solve the problems no one else dares to tackle.

For my intensive retreats, where breakthroughs happen in ways I haven’t even imagined yet.

For Kushal in India, receiving the medical care he needs and thriving.

For Benjamin’s legacy, expanding in ways beyond my current vision.

How would that change the way I show up today?

What If I Already Have Enough?

And then, a different question surfaced. One that sat in my bones.

What if I already have enough?

Not as a limitation. Not as complacency.

But as a deep, unshakable truth.

What if I didn’t need to read another book to be qualified—because I could write the book I most want to read? What if I didn’t need more followers, more validation, more proof—because my work is already shifting lives? What if I already have everything I need to create, serve, and lead?

And then it got personal.

What if I already have enough to carry Benjamin’s legacy forward? What if I stopped searching for the missing piece—and trusted that I’m already equipped? What if everything I’ve experienced, everyone I’ve served, and everything I’ve learned is already enough?

This isn’t about stopping growth.

It’s about leading from a different place.

Not from striving. Not from proving. But from knowing.

The Power of Intention and Emotion

At the event, we were guided to set a clear intention.

For some, it was leading an organization that fully aligns with their values. For others, it was building something lasting—wealth, innovation, transformation. For many, it was crafting a career that felt like full alignment—freedom, wealth, and work that lights them up.

I sat with this. And the same question resurfaced:

What if I already have enough—and my intention is to lead from that place?

Not as a thought. Not as a fleeting idea.

But as something I could feel in my body.

And then, another layer—elevating my emotions.

Rather than letting the world dictate how I feel, what happens when I take charge of my emotional state all the way?

If I truly trust I have enough—what does that feel like?

What does it feel like to move from gratitude, joy, and ease?

I’ve had this ritual for years.

But this was a deep reminder:

It’s not about just doing the morning ritual—it’s about awakening the state I want to lead from.

So, I recommitted.

To waking up and stepping into my day with intention. To generating the emotions of abundance, freedom, joy, and synchronicity—instead of waiting for circumstances to dictate them. To building, leading, and creating from the deep trust that I am already enough.

Your Invitation: What Would You Create From This Place?

So, I leave you with this:

If you stopped today and took stock of what you already have, would you recognize that it’s enough?

Could you trust that who you are right now is fully capable of creating what’s next?

What shifts when you lead from certainty, instead of striving?

Because when you trust in what you already hold, you create from a different place.

And in uncertain times—when the world is in flux, when resources tighten—what if you chose to lead from your vision of the future instead of reacting to the present?

That is my commitment now. To speak from the future, not the past. To choose how I show up every day. To trust that I already hold everything I need—and so do you.

So I ask you:

What becomes possible when you fully embody this?

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Hit reply and let me know:

What vision are you stepping into today?

Love,

Rita

We can dream and tell the dreams of the future we desire. But it won't turn out to be exactly what we dreamt about.

Where’s that flame button when you need it???? This is so on point! I also ended up feeling an urge to work more with freedom and joy as part of my intention and vision ahead. And in the second last meditation, my intention changed into ?I’m not my past experiences, thoughts or emotions, I’m not my history. I’m free! I’m not bound my history, I’m the only one who can set myself free.? And watch me, I will!????
