The Power of Blockchain Lies in Its Use Cases

A throwback to the London Blockchain Conference 2024

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the London Blockchain Conference (LBC) 2024 and was truly amazed by the diverse and innovative use cases presented by various businesses leveraging blockchain technology. Having attended the conference in 2023, I found this year’s event even more tangible and impactful.

London Blockchain Conference is one of the most advanced conferences, featuring insightful talks and exhibitions focused on blockchain technology attended by thousands of attendees from around the world. The conference consistently comes with industry leaders, professional speakers, diverse panel discussions, and includes different communities. This year's event took place last week from May 21st to 23rd and WiBT Women in Blockchain Talks was invited to collaborate as a community partner.

'Main Takeaways' I took back home:

The quick advancement of technology is evident, as there were many innovative companies involved and I could witness the crowd (a big crowd) adapting to this technology.

One of the standout participants at LBC was CPD Standards Office, which launched a new blockchain-focused wing to produce blockchain-accredited certificates.

The transparent and immutable nature of blockchain technology, where data, once stored, cannot be replaced, enhances trust and accountability. I have no doubt that these applications bring more accountability to the education system.

I am pleased with these innovations that support and bring social value.

A care for nature : Universal Plastic (UP) is enhacing the marine waste collection process using Blockchain and AI

As someone who cares deeply about nature, I make sure my lifestyle reflects that. I'm always mindful of protecting our environment, so I try to use plastics and clothes for as long as possible, reducing any extra strain on nature. It's my small way of making a difference and preserving the place we call 'home'.

What do you guys do to help our mother nature?        

So, when I was at LBC i came to see this excellent initiative by Universal Plastic? (UP). It is a very pleasing initiative supported by the Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies. By utilizing AI and blockchain technology, UP aims to regenerate marine ecosystems by securely and transparently managing plastic waste data. This tamper-proof method exemplifies how blockchain can contribute to environmental sustainability.

On Wednesday morning I rushed to Excel London because I wanted to listen to Steven Bartlett, luckily I joined on time.

Being a big fan of mindfulness, and technology, I always followed successful people on social media. One of those on my list was Steven Barlett.

Steven talked about business fundamentals, idea generations, mindsets, blockchain, and AI. One of the main points that caught my ears was:

"When you are looking to start a company in #emergingtechnologies, join a failing startup or a startup trying to build from nothing, there you learn the lessons that you could use when you build your own company"
