Power BI Data Mart: A Powerful feature for self-service capabilities

After Power BI XMLA-Endpoint , this is the next feature which is going to add a lot of value to Power BI platform and add a lot of values to data preparation capabilities. Datamarts are self-service analytics solutions, enabling users to store and explore data that is loaded in a fully managed database. Datamarts provide a simple and optionally no-code experience to ingest data from different data sources, extract transform and load (ETL) the data using Power Query, then load it into an Azure SQL database that's fully managed and requires no tuning or optimization. Datamarts automatically generate a dataset or semantic model, which can be used to create Power BI reports and dashboards. You can also query a datamart using a T-SQL endpoint or using a visual experience.

For now this feature is in preview and available across Power BI Premium capacities and Premium Per User subscription only.

Datamart provides an unified reporting platform to design & develop data ingestions, transformations and exploration without another tool, license, or service. Datamart makes the Power BI platform capable enough for BI requirements. Power BI Datamart is an intersection of Dataflow, Azure SQL Database, Power BI Dataset, and a Web UI to manage and build all of that in Power BI eco-system.
