My take on Microsoft’s recent partnership with VMware : You might have heard about the recent announcement that Dell, Microsoft and VMWare announced on April 29, 2019. This was covered widely online. Our Azure cloud has already enhanced productivity and security for many companies across the globe. In an era where technologies are changing faster than we think, this partnership will provide new opportunities for companies to tap into latest technologies AI, ML and IoTs.
Our extended partnership with Dell to provide our customers a supported VMware experience on Microsoft’s cloud will be the next game changer in the Cloud era. Here is why I think this way.
- Customer can now easily run, manage and secure applications across all VMware environments and Azure all with a common operating framework
- Money that customers have already spent on using VMware will not get wasted. Instead, it will get capitalized. Same VMware solutions can now run leveraging the performance, and innovation that Azure cloud offers
- VMware workloads on Azure can be modernized via integration with a range of services that Azure offers : Azure active directory, Azure AI and IoT
- VMware solution, VMWare Workspace One gets added to M365 and as a result, customers will be able to use Workspace One to manage and secure productivity features of O365 via integration with Intune and Azure active directory
Microsoft has already become $1Trillion company in value and there is more to come because of the solid cloud growth. Cloud is Microsoft’s Unicorn! Go Microsoft!
