The Power of Asking: Get All The Freelance Gigs You Want
Wow, week 2 of the "Get Paid to Write" newsletter is already here - can you believe it??
If you subscribed to my newsletter and read the first one, you'd know I'm passionate about sharing how to grow as a freelance writer and make money.
So let's get into today's topic - the power of asking.
Last week I talked to a friend, Joel Ajayi?- great freelance writer BTW. Follow his company Climbr; they share great information to help you start, grow and scale your career.
Joel told me how he got gigs, and I was like, aha! - it was like a light switch got turned on in my head.
He gets freelance writing gigs by asking for it. He reaches out directly to the decision-maker in his target company, and he asks for what he wants - genius!
Why didn't I think of this in the past??
Why was I struggling to get gigs when I could have asked for it? Why are we struggling?
We are selling ourselves short and missing out on the good things we could have because we are not asking for it.?
And what's the worse that could happen when you ask for stuff? You get rejected - ouch!?

That's the worse that'd happen.
But come to think of it; it's not your loss but theirs. They threw away the chance to work with one of the best writers in the world, and now you can work with other people.
I took Joel's advice hook, line, and sinker and worked on it for a week.?
The results I got were awe-inspiring.?
I got two guest posting opportunities. I also got two people who asked me to apply directly to their job as a content marketing manager. I also got the chance to become a group expert for a company I've been following for the longest.?
I got all these in less than a week.?
You can get great results in less than a week. All you have to do is ASK!?
I can't wait to get your feedback and hear all your great results.
Happy freelancing, #greatwriters.

2 年Hi Adeife, really informative?content. I want to ask if you can go over the strategy you use in detail. I mean, how you pitch without coming off as being desperate.
