Power Apps Express Design: Transforming a Drawing into a Functioning App in Minutes!
Microsoft recently announced express design capabilities for Power Apps, which leverages design artifacts (paper forms, drawings, or Figma files) and translates them into a functioning Power Apps application.
Let's see this magic in action!
Here's my rough sketch of a form my team wants to build out.
I can take a photo of my form and navigate to Power Apps and create an app from an image.
Power Apps starts to tag my image.
I can specify the data type of each of these fields. For example, I want the Date field to be a Date Picker, rather than a text field.
Now, all my fields are properly tagged.
Ah yes, I need a place to store this data - I'll create a Dataverse table to store my event speaker sign up records.
I can map the image components to fields in Dataverse, change the field type, and choose the primary name column.
I finish the process and patiently wait for the app to be created for me.
Success!
From here, I can customize my app and add more features/capabilities.

2 年I’m skeptical of the use case…don’t see folks actually using this in the real world. Just use a digital whiteboard or mock-up tool. Save some paper and iterate without having to breakout the wite-out.
