Another module of the executive MBA was completed yesterday, and I am excited to share my thoughts on the effectiveness of online education compared to traditional in-person education, especially in the context of sustainability and renewable energy. By the way, the module was “Corporate Turnaround” and happy to see the professor receptive to using ChatGPT for learning (though the caveat mentioned noted its limitations).

In recent years, the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought new opportunities to the education industry, including the use of chatbots like ChatGPT to facilitate learning. With ChatGPT, educators can create a personalized learning experience for students that adapts to their individual needs and preferences. Moreover, students can benefit from instant feedback, 24/7 support, and the flexibility to learn at their own pace.

However, there are also drawbacks to using AI in education. For example, ChatGPT may not be able to understand the context or nuance of certain questions, leading to inaccurate or incomplete answers. Additionally, some students may feel that they miss out on the social interaction and engagement that comes with traditional in-person education. But I can safely say it’s helping me with my research being the topic for my project is niche. Despite the challenges, I believe that ChatGPT and other AI-based education technologies have significant long-term implications for students and the renewable energy industry. By using AI to facilitate learning, we can democratize access to education and empower students to become self-directed learners, ultimately leading to a more knowledgeable and skilled workforce.

Moreover, the use of AI can help us develop more sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies in the renewable energy sector. By providing students with a deeper understanding of the science and engineering principles behind renewable energy, we can inspire the next generation of innovators to create cleaner and more efficient energy solutions. I believe we should embrace the power of AI in renewable energy education, while also acknowledging its limitations. As educators and researchers, we must work together to develop new strategies and tools that leverage AI to create a more sustainable and equitable world for all.
